What to do in Japan in December?

In a previous article I mentioned that Christmas in Japan is spent with a boyfriend or girlfriend.

In December, many places in Japan are in romantic mode.

All over the country, there are illumination events and Christmas dinners are sold as course menus at fashionable hotels and restaurants.

In the midst of all this, December is also the season for BOUNENKAI.

BOUNENKAI means a year-end party.

Basically, it is a party you have with your colleagues at work.

We end the year by going to karaoke or having drinks at an izakaya (Japanese-style pub).
